The 2020 Summer Olympics were a tough time for the USWNT. And for the Matildas. And for fans and spectators alike because the pandemic meant all events and matches took place in closed stadiums with no crowds.
While we didn’t get to enjoy the action in person, we were gifted with a legendary photo of Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis, a new catchphrase: “They’re lesbians Stacey”, and an alternate definition for the word “sportsmanship”.
